About me ..

Hey, I'm Karl ! I'm a wedding photographer based in Swansea, South Wales. I've  been shooting weddings professionally in South Wales since 2008 ! but my photography journey really began when I was a child growing up in Porthcawl. My dad was the big influence on me really; he had his own cameras and video cameras and had been shooting weddings himself in Neath and Swansea since the 1960's. With a room of the house converted into a "dark room" for developing film, my journey into photography began whilst watching him and assisting him too at his own weddings during the late 1980's and 1990's.  Being a creative I took the art & design route through uni, and always had a camera at hand.  

I'm married to Nicola, and have two amazing kids; Luke & Chloe ! We all love the outdoors and my kids have had an amazing adventure growing up with the Gower on our doorstep ! From our annual camping trips to Llangennith, surfing constantly when there are waves and heaps of cycling, swimming and coastal walks!

I'm a surfing addict and grew up just a stones throw from the beach in Porthcawl, I've been fortunate to surf all over the world and the sea has been my soul mate throughout my life, always there for me when I need it through good times and bad, but also equally I love to swim, bike, run and compete in triathlons !

In 2022 I completed a 140.6 triathlon in Tenby! A 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a marathon run. I mention that, as alongside having the courage to leave a perfectly good IT career to start a photography business and a creative job that that I love , its probably my life's greatest achievement. I love travel and also absolutley LOVE house music. My favourite drink is Rioja with a good steak and chips.

As you may have guessed I also love surf photography ! and often get into the water to capture waves with my underwater camera gear !

I pride myself on raising two all round water kids !! Both can surf, swim, paddle board, kayak exceptionally well ! Its been amazing to see them grow up with a true outdoor lifestyle !

Back to weddings ...

I work in a relaxed way, I'm totally chilled out and super friendly and easy to get on with, yet highly professional. Most of the time you probably won't notice I'm there ! I blend into the background and ensure you just go with the flow and enjoy your day. Yet I'm always on hand to guide you through any bad weather and offer advice. During most of the day I'll be capturing the natural, candid moments... Your guests laughing, and interacting with you and each other.
